The lives of thousands of children living the the heartland of the late Nelson Mandela’s homeland of Mthatha, Eastern Cape changed forever for the better in November 2014 as over 200 volunteers joined forces and put their hands to good work building & renovating the primary schools of Ngcendese & Zwelinzima.

Two ambitious construction projects took place simultaneously at remote sites located close to Mandela’s resting place in Qunu. This was an extraordinary rural African experience for everyone involved. Volunteers spoke of the strong connection locals had to both land and community, and the priviledge they felt in helping to further enhance the lives of the next generation in South Africa.
