Richard Scott is a renowned ‘Pop Art’ artist living in Cape Town, South Africa. He recently contributed paintings to the Mellon Educate Fundraising Gala.
We are fortunate enough to have several of Scott’s prints for sale on the website, including limited edition prints of work carried out with school children at Ummangaliso Primary School in 2016. All proceeds going to help with the work of Mellon Educate in South Africa.
Richard was invited to work with the kids at a school in 2016 by Mellon Educate. It inspired me to invite the kids to my studio and do a collaborative painting with them. The kids came over and we got stuck in. While each of them did their own piece, we also set about working on the bigger canvas. Once the kids finished doodling I added on of my iconic Trees of Life to the work to add extra value. The original artwork was sold in the inaugural Mellon fundraiser for £11,000. What you see here is a limited series of prints of the paintings and the kids and I painted.
Scott has also contributed some of his iconic tree of life prints, which can also be purchased on the site with all proceeds going to Mellon Educate.
