Richard Scott is a renowned ‘Pop Art’ artist living in Cape Town, South Africa. He recently contributed paintings to the Mellon Educate Fundraising Gala and create an amazing piece of work with pupils of the Ummangaliso Primary School. Get this unframed print of one of his iconic tree prints.

Scott works prolifically with acrylic on canvas print, sketch and sculpture. He uses a combination of vibrant colours, thick lines and texture to create paintings with a modern and playful edge in the art tradition.

Scott started his career in 2001 and has ro date produced over 5000 works.

He has had 109 global exhibitions (29 of them solo) in South Africa, United Kingdon, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and the United States.

With collectors in every corner of the globe, Scott is known for his entrepreneurial approach to his art practice and has worked with important brands that include Vespa, the Tutu Foundation and Woolworths South Africa.

Richard Scott invited the children of Ummangaliso Primary School to join him in a painting session in his studio. Richard began by giving the children a 30 minute explanation of how he paints and how he makes a living as an artist – from his technique of applying paint to the canvas to how he runs his career as a business.

The children were given a canvas of their own paint for each to keep as a treasured memento of a very special and happy day.
