New Transition Year Programme with Mellon Educate 2024

Saturday 10th February-Friday 16th February 2024

I know as young people many of you dream of making a difference in this world so don’t leave it any longer. Come out on our 1 week Transition Year Programme to South Africa. You’ll work hard, you’ll be tired and exhausted but you will go home with a pride that will never leave you.

Niall Mellon Voluntary CEO, Mellon Educate

Transition Year Volunteer Programme 2024

Transition year is the perfect time to explore potential career paths, learn new skills, and achieve personal growth. Our one-week transition year programme allows you to do just that – get real-world experience while having fun and, most importantly, helping others!

Mellon Educate helps impoverished children in South Africa, get a better education. We try to include so much in an intensive work experience week helping our charity. It’s all about making a difference in the lives of some of the poorest children on the planet. During the week with us, you will be doing construction work, you will be working within our established literacy programme, you will be working directly one on one with the children you have travelled so far to help, you will also have the opportunity to work within the schools feeding programme and feed children who so desperately need it and once all that is done, you will still have time to view some of the amazing sites of the region!

  • This week has easily been one of the best experiences of my life.  We’ve seen so many different things and experienced so many different things.  Anyone thinking of coming out with Mellon Educate for their transition year work experience, I would definitely recommend it and I will definitely be out here again.

    Ben, TY Student 2023
  • I would really encourage the transition year students to do the 1 week work experience with Mellon Educate because it really is inspiring to see all of the people and how much one simple thing can affect them.
