All the preparations for the 10th Anniversary Blitz are really keeping us all in the NMTT office on our toes!
Last week the team was travelling throughout Ireland covering Kick Off Meetings while I flew to Cape Town for Wallacedene site visit and meetings with Noeki and entire South African team.
The site this year while not huge is quite busy. Especially last week with kids playing outside during their school holidays! This year we will be building in between houses and shacks rather than in green fields so volunteers will be able to meet the community and see how they live day to day.
Our SA Team have completed a number of housing projects in Wallacedene so the volunteers will be able to see the progress since the last Blitz there in 2010. I was delighted to see the houses volunteers have built are standing strong occupied by happy beneficiary families.
So the maps are being drawn, houses are being marked, slabs are being poured and the Wallacedene community is really excited to welcome the Irish volunteers! Bring on November!
