Myself and Rima have just returned from South Africa where we were attending preparation meetings before the Blitz in November! It is very much All SYSTEMS GO in Cape Town and all our colleagues there are busy with preparations.
When we arrived in Cape Town Airport we were picturing the arrival of all the NMTT Volunteers over the past Ten Years coming through customs and heading out into the sunshine to begin this years building project! I cannot believe it is just 41 days away!
During the flying visit we met with all of our suppliers who our Veterans will know well, from the Ovation Help Desk girls to the wonderful staff of the Southern Sun Waterfront Hotel.
(The Airport management send a friendly reminder that no dairy, fruit or vegetables are allowed through customs, and a blank page is needed in your passport for a stamp)
The staff in the Southern Sun were nostalgic about the years we have been with them, and are determined that this year will be a very special one for all to remember. They are as excited as we are about November!
Due to the change of our Township for this year to Wallacedene Rima will be heading out this week to Cape Town to walk the new site and make sure all preparations are under way for all the volunteers arriving in November.
Cannot wait to meet you all in Cape Town,
Siobhan
