A Long Road To The Alter

Given the day that is in it we thought it would be appropriate to share with you a few of the romantic stories that have started on the Niall Mellon Township Trust, Building Blitz. Over the years 3 couples have Tied the Knot after meeting hundreds of miles away from home, when their eyes met across a dusty Building Site in one of the many townships our Building Blitzes have taken place in.

The most recent couple to get married are Kathy Shannon and Michael-John O’Grady who met on the blitz in 2008 and who said “I Do” in May of last year. In a recent article (below) Kathy said “ They say charity doesn’t pay, but we would be disagree with that it was through volunteering for charity that we met!”

Other couples to have meet on the blitz over the years have been:
Catherine Williams and Gareth Lloyd met on 2004 blitz, got engaged on 2005 blitz, got married in 2006 and have three kids now!! Sean, Sophie and Emma.
Sarah Kelly and Will Maher met on 2007 blitz, got married in 2010 and recently had baby girl Bronwyn three weeks ago!.
Paula Moran and Denis Dunphy met on 2007 blitz, got married in 2010 and had baby Lucy in September 2011!

Maybe not the most conventional way to meet your partner but what better way to meet than working together for a good cause!
